The following lists any applicable pre-licensing, continuing education, renewal, and reciprocity requirements for Kentucky real estate licensing.
Real Estate Education Requirements: - Kentucky real estate salesperson license: 6 semester credit hours in real estate courses from an accredited college/university or 96 classroom hours in real estate courses from a Kentucky Approved Proprietary School
- Kentucky real estate broker license: 21 credit hours, with at least 12 hours in real estate courses from an accredited college/university or 336 classroom hours in real estate courses from a Kentucky-approved proprietary school
- Kentucky requires an additional 48 hours of post-license real estate classes
State Reciprocity: Kentucky does not have reciprocal relationships with other states.
Continuing Education And/Or License Renewal Requirements: - Real estate professionals in Kentucky must renew their licenses by December 31 every year
- Licensees must take 6 hours of real estate CE each year between January 1 through December 31 (no credit will be carried into next calendar year), including 3 hours on approved legal topics
- Once every four years, licensees must take the 6-hour Kentucky core course
