Exam topics include real estate law, ownership, land use controls and regulations, disclosures, valuation, financing, titling, taxes, and contracts.
Alaska Real Estate License Requirements
The following lists any applicable pre-licensing, continuing education, renewal, and reciprocity requirements for Alaska real estate licensing.
Real Estate License Requirements:- Alaska real estate salesperson license: 40 hours
- Alaska real estate broker license: 15 hours (in addition to the 40 required of salespersons)
- Alaska requires an additional 30 hours of post-license real estate classes
State Reciprocity: If you hold a current real estate license in another state, you may obtain a reciprocal license by doing the following:
- Complete 40 hours of an Alaska-approved pre-license real estate course
- Pass the Alaska real estate salesperson exam
- Submit a Salesperson License by Examination application (#08-4179) for licensure under a broker with the appropriate licensing fees
- If an individual holds or has ever held a real estate license in another state, a license history is required from each state before a license will be issued)
Continuing Education And License Renewal Requirements: - Alaska real estate CE must be completed every two years on even years by January 31
- Must include 12 hours of electives, as well as the 8-hour designated core course
